Wattle Extract - Wattle (Acusia mearnsii) is a tree native to North Africa, India, and parts of Malaysia. The heartwood produces a subtle, workhouse dye with a high tannin content that is a workhorse in the natural leather industry. The Earthues wattle extract is most commonly used to strengthen the bond of the aluminum salt to the cellulose fiber to be dyed, increasing the resultant depth of shade and fastness.

In combination with iron, wattle will produce brown-grey. It will dye cotton, hemp, linen, and other cellulose fibers to deep rich shades because of the high tannin content.
