Henna (Lawsonia inermis) is native to western India and is now cultivated widely in most tropical regions of the world.  Dried, powdered henna leaves are used to immersion dye cotton and silk with or without an aluminum sulfate mordant. Henna is also used as a reducing agent in natural indigo vats. The powdered dried leaves are most widely used as a hair dye and as a pigment for skin decoration (mehndi).

The Earthues henna is a very fine powder that can be used successfully as an immersion dye, as a reducing ingredient in natural indigo vats, and for drawing intricate mehndi designs on hands, etc.
