Gum Tragacanth is a natural gum made from the dried and powdered sap of Astragalus plants, gum tragacanth is blended with water to form a viscous paste that is mixed with concentrated natural dye stock solutions for painting designs on silk and cotton fabric. Gum tragacanth will not alter the color or dull the colors of the natural dye stock solutions. Each tablespoon of gum tragacanth powder makes a cup of thickened solution.
